ADASHI 3.0 FAQ

Answers

Question: Can I move ADASHI to another PC and how do I do so?

Answer: Yes. If you are running ADASHI 2.2 or higher, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the program folder, usually C:\Program Files\OptiMetrics\ADASHI First Response, and double click the file called "register.exe". When the Authorization Control Panel window comes up, click the button labeled "Transfer Out Authorization" and follow the instructions. If you are running an older version of ADASHI, please contact us for an update.

Question: What are the GPS capabilities?

Answer: ADASHI First Response can interface directly with integrated GPS hardware, GPS PC cards, and Bluetooth connected GPS hardware. In addition, the program's incident location interface includes multiple convenient inputs for manual input of GPS information from handheld GPS devices.

Once the GPS hardware has been linked to the program it can be used to track the user's current location, or quickly identify the current incident site.

Question: How often does the program update weather when accessing it through a portable MET station?

Answer: As often as the MET station is acquiring it. MET stations can usually be configured to acquire weather automatically using a user-specified frequency. Every time this data is gathered by the station, it is immediately incorporated into the ADASHI system. If the MET station is configured to acquire weather ten times per second, ADASHI will update the weather ten times per second.

Question: Can my ADASHI First Response 60-day trial be extended?

Answer: If you are running ADASHI 2.2 or higher, then yes. You can request additional time on your trial by contacting us. If you are running an older version of ADASHI, this is not possible. Your only option then is to install ADASHI on a second computer for another 60-day trial. However we recommend you request the newest version of the software to evaluate, since its capabilities have been significantly improved.

  • GPS tracking and location: GPS PC card, Bluetooth GPS (with computer Bluetooth capability)
  • Real time localized weather: Portable met station hardware compatible with CAMEO/ALOHA

Answer: Maintenance updates are released periodically as needed. To update ADASHI First Response, click 'Help > Check for Updates'. If there are updates available, the program will prompt you through automatically updating itself.

We also have targeted content updates for maps, chemical libraries and other features which follow a schedule of every 30-60 days.

Question: What sort of training is involved?

Answer: ADASHI First Response was designed to require absolutely no training. During an incident, the typical user doesn't have time to play with difficult interfaces or try to remember what they learned in a training class 12 months before. If training is desired to make users more comfortable with what the program can do and how easy it is to run, please contact us to make arrangements.

Question: I still want my other incompatible version of ALOHA installed. Can I install it to a different folder after I have installed ADASHI and run the 2 ALOHAs independently of each other?

Answer: It depends. If you are running ADASHI 1.1.0.22 or earlier, the two separate installations of ALOHA will conflict with each other causing problems and unpredictable results. If you are running ADASHI 2.0 or greater, we have integrated the newest ALOHA directly into the program and you can now have a separate version of ALOHA installed. You can see your version number in ADASHI by clicking 'Help > About'.

Question: Can I put the program on more than one computer?

Answer: Having the program installed and used on more than one computer simultaneously requires the purchase of additional licenses. Concurrent installation for backup purposes may be accommodated. Please contact us for details.
